October 1992,  my brother Chris and I  about to take our first whitewater trip down the Nantahala river in our newly acquired  C-2. We got our first C-2 whitewater roll that day.  (Chris, Trevor)

1985 My oldest brother Mark taught me how to roll a C-1 (Hydra Centaur)
1987 Paddled the Nantahala and Ocoee River for the first time (Gyramax C-1)
1989 Bought my first C-1, a Perception Gyramax, and almost bought a C-2
1990 Nov. 12th.  Fell 35 feet off a cliff in a rappelling accident, I broke my back, dislocated and broke both my left ankle and left elbow, and spent two weeks at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, TN.  By God's grace I wasn't paralyzed!

991 (December) A year later I had surgery to remove two rods from my lower back                     1992 (Spring) Locust Fork River, AL,   My first time on whitewater since my accident.  That day at the put-in I noticed a kayaker with a prosthetic arm,  so I figured if he could do it I could too.                                                                                                                                1992 Inspired after watching 1992 Barcelona Olympic Slalom competition                            1992 (Fall) Purchased first slalom C-2
1992 (Fall) Began hanging gates on the Tallapoosa River, near Tallassee, AL                            
1993 First whitewater slalom race in C-2 (Mulberry Fork Race, AL) 4th place
1994 U.S. Slalom Team Trials Ocoee River, TN; C-2 (9th of 17) Petitioned to race
1996 Mulberry Fork Race, AL; C-1 (1st of 19) My first C-1 win!                                            1996 Despite a clean run in C-2, missed qualifying for '96 Olympic Trials by 8 seconds               1997 Alabama Cup Champion C-2 (3 race series)
1997 Ocoee Doubleheader Ocoee Olympic Course TN, C-2 3rd
1997 Alternate U.S. Team C-2 (invited to 1997 World Championships in Brazil in C-2)
1998 Alabama Cup Champion C-1 (3 race series)
1998 Ocoee Doubleheader Ocoee Olympic Course TN, C-2 3rd
